Quiet on the Homefront

I haven’t been feeling the greatest for the past week, so things have slowed down on Passel. Seeing Google adopt Jabber/XMPP in GTalk has been quite encouraging. When you consider that Jabber has been around for almost 6 years now, and it’s just now getting this level of traction, it puts the Passel project into perspective. It’s just going to take time.

I have been doing some thinking, of late, about how to remove/reduce the requirement for SSL at the Target. Signers always have to use SSL, since authentication is happening. However, with our use of digital signatures and a simple public key encryption scheme, it should be possible to control the integrity and privacy concerns between an Agent and Target. More on that later, when I’ve finished working through the details.
